Offbeat Fundraising for "Help for Heroes" in Rolex Fastnet Race

Racing in Class IRC 2 the majority of the boats are fully crewed but particular note must go to Richard Palmer's Jangada Too which is entered in the double-handed division. Quite a challenge when facing this classic 608 mile race.

Aria (Luca Rubinelli) and Jibe (Robin Taunt) have been sharing the honours for first J/109 in the RORC races this season but the rest of the fleet will be hoping to challenge them in this marathon race. Navigation, weather and tidal tactics and teamwork will be key to success.

The other British yachts (Jumping Jellyfish, Jazzy Jellyfish, Beth, Just for Fun and Offbeat) are also joined by two Dutch entries (Jitters and Arethusa) who will be unknown quantities to the local boats.

Trackers are being carried on board and live positions may be seen on the RORC fastnet site fastnet.rorc.org

David McLeman's team on "Offbeat" are also using the event to raise funds for "Help for Heroes", the support of the class would be much appreciated to help them reach their target. If you can support this great cause please go to their JustGiving page
